This is the first year we are allowed to take a bear, and i hardly know nothing we get season dec1st threw dec 13th on this side of 460 and i an allowed to hunt on the other side which is nov24th threw jan3rd.. Want the seaon on my side of the road be a bit too late want nature put them to sleep? What is the best way to hunt a bear? what calls (NO E-caller) nor (Bait) i have gotten pics of a preety good size bear on game camera and where he has dug his claws into a tree.
And where to look for them mostly? Please someone just try to educate me some.

You should pick up a good call that sounds like a jack rabbit. The reason I suggest a jack rabbit is that it is corse loud call that can reach out a longer distance to get bear to come in. Calling in the cold poses 2 problems, 1) your ability to sit still for an hour or longer, 2)the bear will be slower to respond because it is pre hibernation mode. The bears will be very heavy and may not be motivated by hunger.

You may also search through the archives on calling to pick up other advise on this forum.

Keep us posted on how the hunt went.

See if you can locate a copy of the Carlton bear calling tape/video. Also he makes a call. Here in Washington you can buy a kit that has tape and call.
Otherwise I can't tell ya nuthin.
What is the woods? fir, pine hardwood? is it cold? Snow? What do they eat there? Is there lots of them? Do you have open areas where you can glass?
Keep us informed, good luck.

well the past few days it has been in the 50° range very few pine trees mostly hardwood. From what i have sceen berries and corn. The pupulation of bear here are growing thats why they let us have season on them this year. I got very few open fields the biggest one i got is around 30acers, and we got 4 fields. sceen a few bear while riding on the atv. There is a chance of snow here for the next week or so and up to 2in of snow tommorw and the next day. 90% of the time i sceen one they was in the thick cover of larual bushes.
