Hiking/hunting boots

What do you guys wear? I recently bought some Merrell hiking boots as my running shoes left my ankles and feet killing me after a long days scouting trip on a jagged rock road.

Also, for all the scent control products and expensive camouflage at my local hunting store, I realize now they don’t have much hiking or hunting boots. In hindsight this seems far more important than fancy camouflage patterns

Everybodys feet are different, but ive tried a lot of boots and Lowas are my favorite. Its all i wear anymore, hunting, hiking, or anything else im doing. Your results may vary.

i have a hard time finding anything other than rubber pull on knee high boots like muck boots. my foot size is the issue. 11 1/2 4E as in EEEE wide

got a pair of irish setter elk trackers (Size 11 1/2 H) on the way to the boot box. they said if i dont like them they'll just put them on the shelf

rolled both ankles during deer season about a week apart. Doc said i need better boots than the rubber ones :)

Zamberlan for me. I've had a couple different styles and have been exceptionally impressed. I'm hard on boots and picky about how they fit. I wear them pretty much every day and put on a lot of miles. Take good care of your feet and they will take care of you.

I have uninsulated Lacrosse Alpha Burly Pro’s for Spring Gobbler and Early Season Archery until merino socks alone don’t cut it..when it gets below freezing I have 1600g Lacrosse rubbers, any colder than that I have Lacrosse Pac Boots.
I did just get a pair of Dryshod rubber Ankle boots for when it’s warm to hot.

I don’t have much walking to do where I hunt. Cleared paths to both blinds…most walking I do is dragging deer or to pick up other game.

I’d like to try Lowa or Meindl’s. I wear a size 13 shoe/sneaker normally, so need to upsize to 14 to be able to fit with thicker socks so not the easiest size to find. Usually never in stock in stores to try on.

I have been wearing the Cabelas Iron Ridge 80” gram for a lot of years. They have kept me warm and dry during late winter hunts.

I might end up buying some muck boots too, been thinking about it. At this point I’m more for ankle support and being able to hike far including potential walks back to the truck with quarters in the frame backpack. I’ll take wet feet, but my feet and ankles need to last

I will add that the Lacrosse rubber boots last around 2-3 seasons…had entire sole fall off while turkey hunting this year.

1st time thats happened in 5 pairs. Others, soles have just worn out, or holes developed from articulation.

They fit my feet very well and are very comfortable. I have very high arches and bunions on both feet and don’t hurt at the end of the day. Never had a pair leak either…I have creek I frequently cross, So I keep buying them.

I do feel like the Dryshods I just got are better constructed. Hopefully get to try them next weekend.

I have a hard time finding boots to fit, for cold winter my favorite is Irish Setter Elk Tracker 600 or 1000grms. Most of the time I wear knee high Muck boots
