We see a lot of bald eagles around the house every winter. We're within walking distance of the Great Salt Lake marsh. They feast on ducks. And in the freshwater partition, carp. I've seen as many as five roosting at one time in a cottonwood about 400 yards from the front door. They're quick to kill, but not the least bit averse to scavenging. We do tend to think of bald eagles as mostly scavengers.
Goldens, we rarely see here at the house. But occasionally. The bald eagles get the hellout of their way
. But I've seen goldens picking at a rotten coyote carcass. They might be the baddest men on the block, but they aren't too proud either.
Bald eagle eating a still live and kicking duck.
And a coyote cleaning up what the eagle didn't want.
