hm2996. I really enjoy these pics of yours all well as other ones on this thread. But I am curious if these are in Texas or Africa. I live in Texas and have been to Africa.
Amazing how that both places share topography, vegetation and soil similarities.
Thank you

Glad you enjoy the pictures, cherokee.
I was never able to go to Africa, but have been blessed with the ability to hunt on three ranches in S. Tx. for over 20 years.
These family owned ranches were established in 1858, are working cattle ranches and have a large variety of free ranging nilgai, scimitar horned oryx, nyala, kudu, gemsbok, blackbuck, thompson gazelle, roan, sable, impala, addax, blesbok, springbok, zebra, eland, beisa oryx and wildebeest. Also plentiful native species and wild hogs.
Hunted various game when freezer was getting low, but predators were my favorite, hunting them year around, and always had a small point and shoot camera or cell phone in a pocket to snap pictures along the way.

Awesome all around. Yes you are highly blessed if the only thing was to see these beautiful creatures. But to get to photograph them is even better. I wish you the best in keeping predators at bay .I have to ask,,, do some of the animals follow a ranch truck when it shows? I ask because a rancher had Orix that when they heard him and especially when they saw him would follow him to wherever he decided to move them. Change pastures you know .... And of course they got cubes, chaffe or whatever treat he had. It was not strange and yet it was and humorous at the same time. Seeing them behave like domesticated sheep and goats. Cattle act the same as you know. Didn't mean to hijack this beautiful thread.
Thank you so much.

Wait til you go to scout camp and there are 4 holes in a row and some wise guy drops a big rock in one. Folks house had a section of old farm land across the street. We kids found the old out house (tall, like a 2 story) and used it as a fort. Tried playing in an old boarded up house but cops chased us out. Or maybe it was the fire crackers we were setting off. Life was great back then.
