This year I plan on trying to call in a black bear. I have never shot a bear and since I have started calling coyotes with good results. I thought it would be fun to try a bear. I have no idea what type of call to use or how I should start with my first set up. It will be no problem for me to find tracks because I see them every year. I have also seen many bears during the season and have passed them up. I guess I just havn't felt like messing with a bear in the warm weather and it just don't seem fair or sportsmanlike when they just sit there and look at me when I drive up. I know where to go. I'm just not sure how to set up and call one to me. I plan on using my Winchester model 94 44 mag so, I think I need them to come in close. I bought this gun about a month ago and I'm not sure what my range is yet. I have a few months to do some shooting and learn how or what is the best way to trick a black bear into hunting me. Does anyone have any advice for a first time bear caller?
