Has any one shot one of the CVA optima elite centerfire rifles ? I have been looking to get a 22-250 in another single shot and don't want another h&r or thompson , I have looked at the rossi and cva but looks like no one keeps the 250 in the rossi so anyone have any experince with these good bad whatever .

I have a cva optima elite in 222. It shoots really good alot better than my Encore. The only thing I have against them is the trigger. My 222 will shoot 3/4 in groups at 100yds.

I'm a dyed in the wool H&R owner with 38 rifles, but I have an OE with 3 barrels, 6mm Ackly(rechambered 243), 7mm-08 and 300WinMag, all barrels shoot well with factory ammo, even better with handloads, I sent it back to BPI for a free trigger job when I first got it, the trigger was very heavy at 5½lbs, they reduced it to 3½. Nice thing about them is OTC Bergara barrels which sell for $125-$200 or so, it would be nice if H&R did that. If I were looking at the CVA now, I'd wait to check out the new Apex which will be available next year, an upgraded OE with lots of chamberings and adjustable trigger according the BP Guns and Hunting (Winter 2008) article. Here's a pic of it from Chad Shearer's site.
