Firefly wind indicator

I'm always a sucker for a new toy and I saw this one on Deer Hunter USA. This thing is kind of cool. It has little leds that tell you the wind direction. Check it out.

I know it seems a little pricey but I got tired of getting the powder all over the inside of my pockets.

Ordered one yesterday. Powder, floaters etc. don't work well in light mist/fog, you can't see them in dark/low light conditions, and they can be difficult to see when there's snow on the ground. IF it works, it will definately serve a purpose. Couldn't find any real reviews, just regurgitated copy. I'll take a chance.

I use feathers tied to a string, or powder, or my favorite is to just tie a string to my recurve tip of gun barrel. But hey it looks cool, now if it could point you to where the coyote are!!!

I like the powder socks that you see used on African hunts. I just the real part I like is the cost! ( old cut off sock with unscented powder ) My real go to aways in use, is a thread on the rifle barrel.

I know wind can vary in different locations & such but I usually look up at the chimney. On the way to the setup there are indicators along the way. If it's dead calm my idea is to call & play out the site before my scent disperses & contaminates the area. Be it deer or predator hunting, wind direction is near the top as to how I conduct the hunt.
