Hunting with subs is pretty hard. My 308 zero'd for 100yds using full speed 175SMK's needs 3.5 mils extra elevation to get subsonic 175's zero'd at that distance.
Just going from memory here, (too lazy to dig out the log book) it then takes an additional 8.5 mils to get to 300yds. A mil is 3.6" at 100yds. You do the math. At 300yds, its like a rainbow.
Also, I've had poor accuracy with bullets that would perform well at low velocities. The hornady 180gr RN that everyone raves about shot like garbage for me in every rifle I tried it in. The 175 match kings were MOA or just a little over out to 300yds. I shot them at 400yds as well. Took 18 mils to get there, and I had a hard time holding 2-3 MOA. They were really falling on their face out there.
Subs with a suppressor sure is fun though!
