NEED HELP- Brass is stuck in resizer die

Guy's I have a piece of 308 brass that is stuck in a Hornady resizing die and the rim is broke off so have no way of grabbing it. I tried soaking it with Rem oil and no go the resizer ball and zip rod are still in the die and are bent. I already have new parts for the die as far as zip rod, sizer ball and pin so that is not an issue but how do i get this out.

You break down and buy a "stuck case remover". Don't worry you will only have to buy 1/lifetime!!! With any luck at all(and some attention to detail) it will be about 20-25 yrs. before you use it again and you will be SO GLAD you kept it!!!
Cheers & good luck

Yup you need a stuck case remover.. Every loading bench should have one.. Or you can get a 1/4-20 tap, and appropriate drill bit and drill/tap the primer pocket.. Then find a bolt and spacer and back it out..

What I have done once or twice since I still dont have a stuck case remover. Drill, tap, and screw all into the primer pocket. Place in a vice a clamp down securely with some rubber inserts. Use the claw on a hammer or a bar then use a dead blow to give it a whack or two. It has worked for me, but not ideal. good luck

I've got a large 7/8"X14 nut that I put in the vise, and then screw the die into. Then I grab the case with a slide hammer with a vise grip on the end of it. And wham wham and out they come.

what i used was a self tapping srew the size of the primer pocket and a socket that fit over the case and that worked for me. thats why i quit using hornady lube

Get the stuck case remover. I have the RCBS I have used it twice in the six or seven years I have had it. You can make a homemade one, but why not just buy it and then it is always at your work bench. That way your not running out to the garage to find a drill bit, a tap, a screw, and a socket when you need it.

Putting the die in the freezer overnight helps get them out too. But if you have boogered up the rim with nothing to grab, Tapping it will prolly be your best bet. Good luck.
