This might be old to news to some, but I just came across it.
I didn't see another thread on it so I thought I'd post.

Akdal Products
The Akdal MKA 1919 is a gas operated, semi-automatic shotgun manufactured in Turkey by Ucyildiz Arms*. The MKA 1919 not only resembles the M16 rifle but the control and function are similar. The MKA 1919 is unlike any other 12 gauge shotgun in the U.S. as it is very light, ergonomic, and magazine fed.

The MKA 1919 semi-automatic shotgun uses a conventional gas-operated action which is located around the support tube that runs below the barrel. The return spring is also located around the same support tube which is concealed by an enlarged polymer handguard. The MKA 1919 barrel can be very easily removed from the upper receiver. The upper receiver is manufactured from an aluminum alloy while the lower receiver, pistol grip, and stock are manufactured as one piece from impact resistant polymer.

The MKA 1919 comes with two 5-round metal detachable magazines and 3 internal chokes. The magazine release button mimics the M16 rifle location. The manual safety also duplicates the M16 style being located on the left side of the receiver above the pistol grip. The top of the receiver has a carrying handle and integral picatinny rail for mounting rear sights, or any optical accessories. The MKA 1919 12 gauge shotgun is appropriate for all levels of hunting and sporting enthusiasts. It comes in Black and "BONZ" camo versions and is reasonably priced for our distributors and customers alike.

Just thought some might in interested in the info.

A local shop has one, not too bad on price. Biggest hit on them vs. a saiga is the magazine capacity. With a saiga you can get 12 rounds mags for a reasonable price. Finding an Akdal aftermarket mag is nearly impossible(my research anyway). I believe I will get one eventually, but once they become a bit more mainstream and have more goodies for them

You never really know how it'll handle until you actually get your hands on it...

So i just got mine. added shark break, quick acc sight, rear flip peep. and modded the stock to colapse stock (tronix adapter) for comfort, at first it has a toyish feel to it but it grew on me fast, Have targeted it and hunted. small game mind you.. rabbits, dove, pigeons. Immo saiga is in toruble. Once its 100% ill post pic.

also gonna mod the pistol grip, again for comfort.

Note: mags are crap for loading but ther are 10 rounders avail now.

Keep an eye on that collapsible stock with heavy loads. I've seen pics of guys who broke their noses,etc... when one of them lets go under recoil.

Looks like fun, the shotgun that is. Would like to here some reviews on how it performs. In the past I have heard a lot of negatives on this format, not necesarilly the brand.
