I believe Arizona had one of the first predator calling clubs, even before California did. The chronology of their development is a little hazy, but it seems to go something like this.

The Arizona Varmint Callers Assoc. came into being around 1957.
The Estrella Varmint Club was started in 1959.
In 1962 the Tucson Varmint Callers joined the association.
The Mesa Varmint Callers were formed in 1964 as a chapter of the AVCA.
In 1967 the AVCA disbanded and reorganized as the Phoenix Varmint Callers Inc.
In 1976 the Tucson Varmint Callers became known as the Southern Arizona Wildlife Callers
In 1995 the Mesa chapter was renamed the Arizona Predator Callers and it still is today.

There were other clubs called the Mojave, Superior, Yuma, Baghdad, and Kingman Varmint Callers that may have been AVCA chapters also, but I couldn’t find anything on them.

This is just a rough cut of AZ predator calling organizations. There must be more to it than this. Maybe some of the original club members out there can accurize this list.

NASA, that's interesting, thanks. I knew of most of those clubs but not all. I even joined the Arizona Predator Callers for a year to get there news letter and help out with it's membership.

So what do you know about the CVCA and the CSVCA. Do you know of any other clubs in California. I know we have had a ton of them over the years, many I know about, there may be a few I don't know about. I believe I know most of the old chapters of the CVCA and the CSVCA.

The very first Chapter was Pasadena. ( Not in order ) South Bay, San Fernando, El Monte, San Gabriel, Fallbrook, Orange County, Coast, Long Beach, Riverside, So Cal, High Desert and a few others that I don't remember. Some split away from the mother club like Southwest Predator Callers AKA LB Chapter and Southern Califorina Varmint Callers AKA So Cal.

Do you know of any others, It would be very interesting to know. Clubs in other states would also be interesting to know about. NASA, I think you are doing a great job with this forum and I'm sure most oldtimers appreciate it, thank you and keep up the good work.
