We the People - Petitions of Interest

The Whitehouse Petition Website has a few petitions up and running that WE the people might want to go sign on.

-- For instance, there is 1 to stop any legislation on Assault Rifle Bans, that needs several hundred thousand signatures supporting it. Oddly enough there is no petition in support of such a ban; all the more reason we need signatures on the petition against the ban.

-- There is a petition to send Piers Morgan back to England. You can sign this one even with your tinfoil hats on, I don't think they'll throw you in a concentration camp for wanting to revoke the pompous opinionated British slimeball's green card. This one actually has more signatures than the stop the assault weapons ban! And, not by just a little bit either!!

-- There are SEVERAL aimed at Westboro Baptist Church. I signed all of them!

-- Then there is one to 'Place the DC “Taxation Without Representation” License Plate on the Presidential Limousine.'
How appropriate!!

-- Way down the list there is one to cease payment of all salary and benefits to members of Congress and the President until they approve a budget.

The day after the shooting there was a petition to ban assualt weapons and it had a lot of signatures. Not sure where it went but it was there.

gradysjeep,

ABC "news" (my other choice is CBS - might as well have a choice of barf bags) said something about that in their daily gun control edition - stated the petition had over 250,000 sigs. Funny. I couldn't find it either.

Nothing surprises me these days, especially if it doesn't make any sense.

Rocky, we don't disagree on much, but I'm somewhat dubious about how much good it does to put my name on anything the White House opposes on their own site. That said, if the aforementioned petition to ban guns rears its ugly head again, I'd surely stand in line to sign the counter petition. Might sign it anyway.

They are no longer open petitions, that is why you can't find them. The one to stop the assult weapons ban is viewable only if you signed it, same with the one requesting the ban. Hope that helps..

At least sign the one to ship Piers Morgan back to England, the pompous @ss is Tweeting this morning that if there were only 6000 signatures to deport him, the rest of the nation must want to keep him.
