Which model Foxpro?

I've hunted with others that had FPs and have been thinking about adding one with the use of my hand calls .

Not sure about new or used yet. So which of the models past and present are the best for the $$. Things like battery life, # of sounds and range and use of the remote.

It won't see alot of action, but some here and there. I tend to "buy once cry once" these days.

Thanks

Which models have you been around, and did you like what you seen? If you have a particular model in mind that you had the chance to hunt over in the past, it might be your best choice. No surprises that way!

Otherwise, I'd say the new Fury II or new Shockwave would get you everything you needed & then some. If volume is a concern then maybe the CS24B.

Good Luck!

The Fury the CS24(Hellfire now I think) and the new Shockwave will all come with enough sounds and have remotes that work further than you really need IMO and I have yet to run my batteries down in a 24hr calling period. That might vary in your colder climate.
With a lot of folks jumping to new models you should be able to find a Fury or a CS24 out there at a good price.
If you want super loud clear volume I would say a CS24 with a 30 watt TOA or the big dog Krakatoa (sp) the only drawback is you cannot charge them simply by plugging in a Foxpro charger like you can the Fury and I think the new Hellfire has the capability of being charged from a 12 volt charger?
When I travel I don't lug the bigger CS24 I just use a Fury/SP55 external speaker in a Yoters Den bag which protects it while traveling and while in the field. It's a fairly small package too.

If I had to pick one for occasional use I would say the Fury and then if you need more volume just add a SP55 and you can call crows from the next county. That is if you buy used. I think if buying new the Hellfire is a good bang for your buck plenty of volume comes with 75 sounds.

I am currently running the CS24B & really like it. I am a volume freak, though! I usually carry a second speaker for my style of hunting as to try and broadcast the sound two different directions ... a little trick I quickly picked up on from a member by the name derbyacresbob. The new shockwave solves this problem with an all-in-one self contained unit. Speakers can swing out to direct the sound at a 90 degree angle. Plus, the new remote included with the Shockwave looks to be simplified & a lot more user friendly. I have no experience with the Shockwave, but if money wasn't a factor it would be my only choice if I were in the market for a new Foxpro caller. The Fury II & CS24B would both be excellent choices too!

They seem to be running 400.00 give or take and depending on sound list and accessories.
That's why I added that last comment above about considering the new Hellfire as it is only 349.00 and while there are a couple more features on the Fury for an occasional use caller not something that is a got to have feature.

Tim~

You might try doing searches on the net that include the words "foxpro craigslist". I have read where guys have picked up Furys or CS24s for only a couple hundred bucks. That is if you have the patience to wait for this kinda deal. I am not crazy about buying electronics used, but did have a Minaska Ultimate One that served me very well for years and it never failed me once. I bought it used off a site. Venatic is absolutely right though, with all the new models out a person should be able to find good used callers that guys are wanting to unload so they can upgrade.

I use the CS24 FOXPRO but any of their products are good just depends on how serious you wanna get . some have more Volume and Calls on them but their all good and this comes from a guy that was a surefire WTech guy .

My brother and I both decided that we wanted portability/ease of carry over extra volume and switched to Scorpions. He picked up an X1B, and I snagged an X1A. We both are primarily hand callers, so packing around a larger caller just seemed cumbersome, not that my fx3 was heavy, just not as easy to carry. His Minaska Big country was not fun to pack around. We can also add good external speakers IF we decide more volume is needed on a windy day. Anyway, just adding fuel to the fire. I don't think you can go wrong with Foxpro, just deciding exactly what options you want is the hard part.
