NO extra chokes for Century Arms Fury ii

Over the weekend I picked up a Century Arms (Catamount) Fury ii at our local Gander Mountain.

It's an interesting shotgun that was introduced at the Shot Show this year. For lack of a better description, it's a chinese Seiga knock off, although does not take Seiga mags nor other Seiga parts, from what I can tell. It has a limited magazine capacity of 5 (but does come with 2 magazines.) Still, it's an interesting tactical shotgun if you're into that type of thing. Since it's virtually impossible to find a Seiga currently, we decided to try this one.

Now for the problem: The info on their website, their You Tube video, as well as the written material that comes with the gun all specify that the gun comes with 3 chokes, (full, modified, cylinder).

I didn't realize it when we purchased it but of course got home and found it was missing 2 chokes. The only choke is the one that came in the gun; the Cylinder. (There's clearly a place in the box for the other 2 chokes.)

I immediately contacted the store. They discovered they had not received them either, and that their other Century Arms Fury was also missing 2 chokes. The store has contacted Century Arms who told them that since the gun was imported, there is nothing they can do to get the extra chokes.

Obviously this response is NOT acceptable. I uttered the words "fraud" to the store clerk, and suggested he get his manager to run it up the corporate ladder so their corporate can talk to Century Arms corporate before I lose my pleasant southern attitude.

Does anyone have any experience dealing with anyone in particular at Century Arms that might be able to interject some common sense into this matter? Certainly they are not selling their entire shipment of these guns knowing they are each missing 2 chokes, and continuing to advertise it with 3?

If you don't get satisfaction at Century Arms and you want to keep the weapon. Why not contact Carlsons Chokes or one of the others and see if they can turn out what you want. Long shot, but they are makers of chokes.

Thanks for the suggestion Tom.

I did actually invest in a 2 hour round trip to Trulock Chokes yesterday. Despite their fast inventory, there was nothing that was an absolute fit. Although a metric 'version' of a Winchoke did seat well, it wasn't the type of fit I wanted (extended beyond the barrel inappropriately.)Given the price of the gun I decided I didn't like it enough to invest in custom chokes.

I contacted Century Arms, myself, and they confirmed that the factory fell through in supplying the advertised chokes, and so far they have been unsuccessful in finding an alternate source. To my surprise they offered to aid with the return of the gun. With that information in hand I went back to Gander Mountain and they actually took the gun back.

Perhaps Century Arms will find a solution, but until then the gun is not nearly as versatile as originally claimed, and just not worth the money, in my opinion. However, both Century Arms and Gander Mountain get an A+ in my book for customer service. (As does Trulock Chokes. They bent over backwards to try to find something that would work for me.)
