Could someone explain the difference between the "heavy" barrel on the AAC-SD and the "Remington Varmint" contour? Also, dimensions if you know them. Remington hasn't gotten back to me and haven't quite figured it out looking at Shilen and other barrel manufacturer's websites. Thanks!

That's what I was hoping. It doesn't seem as thick as my step-brother's bull barreled AR so I was thinking they were the same.

They call them a medium contour. It's 1-1/4" at breech for 3" then a straight taper to muzzle at .750. I gave on in 260 sitting in my reloading room these are 24"
The Remington varmint is I think 1-1/8" for 3 inches then a straight taper to .800 or .830 and these are 26" long
