Most effective gas system for suppressed AR15?

I'm in the process of setting up a on AR to serve as a host for my SAS Barricade. I plan on running a 16" barrel and after reading a bunch of info regarding gas systems and suppressed AR performance... blowback, cycling, etc. I'm debating on whether I should go carbine length of mid-length. My assumption is that an adjustable gas block will be needed regardless. Any input would be appreciated....

I have several gas impingement A.R. 15's and one piston driven model as well. I prefer the piston driven as I can adjust the gas. I am going to be putting an adjustable gas block on one of my gas impingement guns and seeing what happens... Cant be bad...

I have both as well, and agree with Swift516. The piston is cleaner, and works great. However i have several DI's with BCM gas blocks and they run great. You can us a BCM Mod 3-4-5 charging handle and it will force gas up and over your head.
I have also had good luck with Seekins adjustable gas blocks too.

I would go Mid length with a good adjustable GB, a charging handle that will divert some of the blow back as well.
Hope this helps.

I tend to lean towards shorter is better. You can always throttle down your gas block if you have too much dwell time or too high of pressure, but there's not a lot that you can do if you don't have enough.

Not usually an issue in short barrels, however, so flip a coin. Usually only creates issues in larger bores and longer barrels.

Carbine or mid length either one, the BMC charge handle is a nice one that works also. but i would go with the SLR Sentry 7 Clamp On .750 Premium Adjustable Gas Block there a little more money but well worth the price...
