Fox whistle?

Are you referring to the metal button whistle, if so ive used them heaps with good results, very popular here in Australia on red fox, it mimics the distressed sound of a rabbit.

Out of all those types of calls, I prefer the Apex whistle. It just has the pitch I like and that tiny bit of rasp that is killer.
These kind of calls are not popular here in the States, but they are pretty much bulletproof, and something different.. if that is what you are looking for.

Could someone please tell the rest of the world exactly what the sound is that this thing makes???? Does it mimic a rabbit in distress, a squeaking mouse, or some noise made by the fox itself???? Thanks in advance for any info!!!

Okay, I have a great deal of experience with these calls and they have been effective for me. The Tenterfield style is the bent or folded type and they mimic a rabbit very realistically. I have used John Cooper's Tenterfied whistle, Ron Kiehna's Tenterfield style whistle, and the Mark Edwards Tenterfield style whistle. The Tenterfield, and Tenterfield style whistle's produce a dual tone of about 30 percent shrill, and 70 percent raspy. The button whistles are about 90 percent shrill and 10 percent raspy and produce excellent rodent, and very high pitch rabbit squeels. P.M. me for help with these calls.
