ii think the important point is, don't believe it when you see claims of >4000 mAh or >5000 mAh out of them. that is the 18650 that doesnt exist.
somewhere right around 3500 mAh is what you can expect from a quality 18650. everything else is "fake news" if you will....

i'm not trying to stick it at 3500 specifically, but around there... 3400-3600 range seems about right. i've got a few things that operate on them including my flashlight thats on the 22lr that i night hunt with. I'm a big fan of the 18650 or 2x cr123A w/ the shell designs for the versatility they provide

Name brand and buying from a trusted source is more important than numbers. More mAh mean more run time, a 3000mAh battery will last 3 times as long as a 1000mAh used in the same light. If you know how many amps your light draws you can actually figure out how long it will last. My batteries are measured in sets not minutes. I always (try) carry extra batteries, and swap them out as needed.
