Bergara .243?

Does anyone have a Bergara H14 Hunter or Timber in 243? I wish they offered smaller calibers. I'm considering one of these rifles for a calling rifle.

Any reviews would be greatly appreciated. Interested in hearing on quality, accuracy and recoil.

Thanks

we have a large gunshop in Tulsa that stocks the Bergara rifles,(when they can get them), seems they don't stay in the store very long. I have a friend that works there and he claims they can't keep them in stock. They go as soon as they get there. About all I can tell you about them.

I know two people with the bergara rifles. One has a .308 and the other has a 6.5 creedmoor. Both guns shoots very very well. I've personally handled the .308, action is smooth, nice trigger, feels good in the hands.

I have a 6.5 that shoots awesome. Won it at a banquet. Only thing I wish is that it was a 243. I will be buying another one some day. I’d do a barrel swap but I don’t want to pay for a blank to get spun up or buy one from the factory for $500 just yet

I see Cabela's has some larger calibers.
The Bergara has some attractive features.
One feature I don't care for is the bolt doesn't lock on safe for the model I looked at.
It would be nice to get detachable mag standard.
They have some good stock features.
Bottom line for me is I can get a Sako model with more features for price range than the comparable Bergara model.

I have the B14 HMR in 308 and can say nothing but good things about it. They use the same foot print of the Remington 700 and the scope bases are also the same. Check out their website, it shows how they make their barrels. I have gotten sub .5 inch groups with the cheap Federal 150 grain (blue box $19.99) ammo. The action is smooth, great triggers, whats not to like.
