Federal Fusion 62gr?

I recently acquired some 62gr Federal Fusion pulled projectiles. My plan is to use them for everything up to deer size game if I can get acceptable accuracy.

The 65gr Sierra Gameking has done well for me for a number of years on both deer and coyotes but since I have these Fusions, I want to give them a try.

Any of you reloaded and used these for hunting? What kind of accuracy were you getting? Performance on game?

I picked up a couple thousand of them from RMR to play with. Haven't settled on a load yet, but plan to let my son use them in my 223ai for coyotes and whitetail.
 
Ive used them on deer and hogs. They do great being a bonded bullet.
I never tried to get the best accuracy out of them but 1.25" at 100 yards with just a thrown together round loaded on a dillon 550. It has been good enough to take hogs out to 300 yards with [beeep].
 
My rifle is very accurate with the 65gr Sierra gameking and 65grs of Varget.. I loaded up just a few of the Fusions with 25.5grs of Varget and shot them today. That load was a little hot so I'll have to back off a little and try it again.

Wowzer. 65 gr gameking over 65 gr of Varget sounds like a real humdinger. I assume its a compressed load.

I also picked up 1k from RMR and loaded a bunch for plinking through an AR. Didn’t really do much as far as load development as it’s a relatively inexpensive 16” skinny barrel that I’m doubtful is capable of much better than 1.5 MOA. That being said, now I’m curious and might run some through a bolt gun and see what they can do.

Oops. That would have been a show. Lol. Should have said 26grs.
