Walmart Gun Sale

Did anyone cash in on the Walmart close-out on some rifles? Supposedly they are clearing old stock for new fall stock coming in.

I saw a thread on another forum where people were buying Ruger Mini-14 blue/wood rifles for $399 and Weatherby Vanguard synthetics for $249.

There were others similar buys, too, but those two rifle/price combinations caught my eye because of the prices. Both pretty good deals if you are a Walmart shopper.

It sounds like most of them have been bought up by this morning, but I thought someone here might have scored a good deal. Apparently some individual stores did not know that their rifles were on sale until an actual price tag was scanned in real time.

I did not, but noticed a Savage Axis camo stock for $199 in 30-06 - already have one so I left it sit - there were some Weatherby's there too as you noted.

I'm surprised that no one here has mentioned getting in on this deal at Walmart nationwide. It has received a lot of press elsewhere on the internet from both happy campers who found rifles at low prices and bah humbug from those who got to their local Walmart store too late..

Different strokes, I guess...........

They still had a youth Savage in 243 and a Vanguard 270 at the store I checked today. Don't need either of those, but that is great pricing.

Same thing happened to me.

I saw the synthetic vanguard with a clearance tag for $349 so I told the girl behind the counter that I had heard they were $249 and she said this particular store hasn't gotten their final markdown yet but they will.

May want to keep checking.

Don't know about the walnut but the synthetics are priced at either $458 or $478, can't remember which.

I bought one of the synthetic ones in 243 yesterday down in Arkansas. $275 out the door. They had 2 wood stock rifles left on the shelf as well for $349.

I'm glad to see that maybe a few people caught a good deal. Any time that you can save a couple of hundred dollars on a gun, its a good deal in my mind

I saw a vanguard marked clearance for $349 today, nothing else. they had wood/blued 10/22's for $209 and the takedown was $338, not $124 which I saw mentioned in an article on this. but so far not at this one. everything but the vanguard was normal price.
