Got this sitting on my nik-nak shelf above the loading bench. This was probably from around the early 2000’s and the store was one of the more expensive if not the most expensive place around but they had lots of nice stuff!

Curious if anyone here will recognize and remember the store…

That's a pretty old Sierra bullet box, as well.
Picked up this can of Bullseye, circa early 1950's from an army surplus store.

The Sierra bullet box has a hand written date on the back. From the 50’s. I’ll get a pic of that later this week when I get home.

I don’t know the year Sierra opened (53 or 54?) but these are early! I have a few of these and told Sierra about them last time I was there and am giving one or two for their little display in the outlet store.

Don't remember how much, couldn't have been more than 25 cents. Go to LGS, want rifle powder. Guy with cig in mouth would get some from metal can, dump in paper sack for us. Used it to load a smoothbore pistol I made in shop class.

I have a box just like that, I think they are 50gr semi-pointed

You are correct! Rusk Gun Shop on the west side of Madison. Was a good shop and had a lot of stuff packed into that small building! When they had the final sale they made prices up at the register and I spent several paychecks there! Pennies on the dollar and I cleaned out several shelves in the reloading isle. I am still using up some of that inventory I bought back then. Closed late 90’s or early 2000’s. Can’t remember exactly.

Yes definitely, think I have some old Hornady bullets too. Gave a box if Sierras away that were .223''dia for old 22 hornet before they changed to .224'' dia bullets.

I have powder bottles marked in the mid-$20's from about 7 years ago. How times change.

When I first started reloading shotgun shells to shoot Trap with in 1969, shot cost us $5.50 for a 25 pound bag. Factory Win AA target loads were $2.50 per box at the Ken County Gun Club. We thought $2.50 per box was way to high. We found a gun shop that sold 20 box cases of Win AA factory loads for $38.00, or $1.90 per box. At that time one dollar to shoot a round of Trap was a lot of money.

You might like this picture derbyacresbob. This sat in my grandparents basement since I was a kid. I ended up with my Grandpa’s Ithaca 37 16ga. It has 24 shells remaining.
