Has anyone out west been to the Idaho or Nevada fur sales? What are coyotes going for? Bobcats?

Think I saw the average for bobkittys was right at $1K. Don’t think coyotes are worth anything anywhere.

$1,000 ?? Every fur sale will post the high cat. The one Bobcat pelt that sold for high $

Your right. I was shocked. Fallon, Nevada fur sale said Bobcat averaged $900

But, like you said a $3K cat makes the average higher than it really is.

Usually every year the average price was $325. So an average @$900 is incredible. I new a guy that averages 40 a year

40 cats a year? That’s pretty good. Think my best year was 32. I’m trapping for management purposes only. Bobkitty’s seem to like turkeys and quail as much as I do and I’m a greedy man!!

Depending on where you live cats in the western sales are averaging $900-$1000 at the bigger sales. Coyotes are still in the 15-25 range. This is for well-handled put up quality fur. I believe there is only one maybe two auctions left for the season, both will be clean up sales in Idaho.

One has to read the fine print, Those prices are for the best of the best. and yes the offering of bobcat was predominantly very high end goods!

I have to ask, other than price, what's the difference in lynx and lynx cat?

Lynx are lynx, lynx cat are bobcats

I sold 3 bobcats at the Arizona sale this year. Got a little over $500 a piece for each one. The top cat of the sale went for just under $3K. The 3 coyotes I sold went for a total of $37.

Nevada usually produces the best Bobcats.

Well not really when there are usually over 1000 bobcat pelts at the sale plus there are a lot of pelts that sell for a lot less. Ive seen some pretty sad skinning and stretching jobs. Out here we call it the Nevada Stretch, brings top $$. Check out the DVD “ Top Dollar Cats”

One top cat does not affect the average technically. If at a sale I buy 750 cats at $900.00 average ill spend $675,000.00 now if I pay $3000.00 for the top cat
