Folks,
I ordered an Athlon Rangecraft yesterday. I'm only looking for an easy setup to check my reloads.
Setting up my Oehler 35P wasn't really a big deal but this new one should fit in my pocket. I wasn't opposed to the
$700.00 Garmin but for what I'm doing I'll give this one a try.
Anyone having GOOD or BAD issues with the Athlon please chime in; because I can send it back.

Personally I think you will be pleased.
I don't have one, and only base that on a conversation I had with two guys whom shoot together. One had the Garmin the other the Athlon. When they compared them both noted that the accuracy was extremely close. And ended with either brands was a good choice.
 
I haven't been able to use my Athlon a whole lot, but I'm impressed so far. It has picked up every shot from air rifles, rimfires, pistols, rifles, bows and crossbow. I have seen some complaints of the app having some issues but I haven't even tried it so I can't comment on that.

I'm also saving money for an Athlon/Garmin, mainly because setting up my chronograph at the range is best done with no one around. Because many shooters want to check their "guns" and I don't trust them to be able to shoot without hitting the unit/tripod 10' feet away. The rangecraft has a 1 year warranty, for some that is a consideration.
 
Also happy with mine for basic FPS stats & easy setup.
Not pleased with the cellphone app, like they tried to cram too much into it & all I wanted was a raw data CSV file.

No Athlon here, but I did pick up a Garmin shortly after the original flurry settled down.

I bought my Oehler 33 back in the 80's that I got down to a science setting it up, but this Garmin is a game changer.

I sold the 33 for a song, & don't miss it in the least.

I'm sure your 35 will live a lonely life in the corner......;)
 
I got the Garmin for $500 out the door. I wish they came out with these years earlier, so fast and easy to set up and to date, no missed shots... not a single one.

You should be quite pleased with your unit.

I ended up buying one of these from Menards for 12 bucks that I put an Anker 1k battery pack & cable in the bottom for the off chance I run out of juice and/or forget to charge mine.
