Past call makers

Was going through some of my calls today and got to wondering about a few of the guys that use to be on here frequently when I first got into custom calls. I have several from each of these guys and miss seeing them around. I know a couple of them were older in years and at least one had health concerns so I was wondering if anyone knew how they were doing these days?

Robert Patrick - Rare Earth Custom Calls

Jim Spray - “Catwhacker”, JS customs

Rudy Calderon? - Stone Coyote Calls, not sure if I spelled his last name correctly but he made the bunny bombs.

Also, can anyone help ID these? I had a list of my calls on a computer that went tits up and can’t recall the info on these two. Todd R., I want to say I may have got them from you.

I also have a coupe of calls I know I got from Todd, and can’t remember the maker of them either. I didn’t take a picture, but they’re wooden and had the “fluted” design. I remember in the picture from when I got them they were with a couple of similar design but those were clear bodied. I can take a picture later if that helps.

Thanks

The bottom one is a THO. When I get my man-cave done and stuff out I'll be able to check the records. With that said, Al Woodard could be added to that list. He made beautiful calls and I would argue he had a significant impact on the hobby.

Man, this list could be huge. There was a whole handful of good call makers from the PM past.

Dave Paul
Richard Grantham
Willketchum
Krusty (Jeff)
Paul Merril
Jerry Latta
Joe Bradshaw
Ernie
Ridgeviewer
Pilgrim
BradH
Cronk
And many more, I know I'm missing a lot of names here.

I got started late in the game, probably didn’t start predator hunting specifically until 2013 or so. I think most of those you listed were gone when I started lurking here.

Sad to see the call makers drift away from here over the years. Maybe they’re doing facebook or other stuff. Always enjoyed the conversations had over calls and sharing success stories back with them later on. Mostly just appreciative of their skills and craftsmanship and miss seeing the calls being offered up.

Likely a skill that isn’t getting passed on very much and probably less and less with interest or ability to learn it either.

Anyway, hope all those guys are still doing well.

It sucks. Back when I first started lurking here I saw so many calls on the custom call forum and kept saying "one day I'm going to get a bunch of these" and by the time I was really into it most of the call makers I loved seeing had gone.
In the beginning stages of learning to make calls I was fortunate to have help from multiple old call makers who had moved on from call making or just stopped posting on the forum.
This fall and winter I hope to post more again now that tariffs and shipping to the states has gotten slightly closer to reasonable.
Might even talk another local Canuck call maker into joining the fold!

Found some old paper notes, I think the other call in the picture with the THO is from Rheal Charlebois? The fluted ones I mentioned were by Doug McCarty.
