Ultrasonic Cleaners

Fellows,
Very new to the suppressor world and I see that the ultrasonic cleaners do a good job without
a ton of elbow grease. Primarily want to use it for 2 cans one is a .22 rimfire " Slingshot ". It gets dirty fast.
Hoping you folks can tell me what size, brand and what features to shop for and what to run away from?
Similar to a certain thermal you don't let your friends buy.

I kinda want to jump into the ultrasonic world, but haven't taken the leap yet or done much research.

I do know Harbor Freight comes into the conversations quite often.
 
I have one from vevor (chinese but they are all probably chinese). Had it for several years but only used it maybe 3 times then it quit. Vevor was no help with repairs or troubleshooting at all since it was out of warranty. I troubleshot and repaired it myself with a 1$ capacitor that i got about 10 of from Amazon. I was able to remove the old one from the circuit board and solder a new one in its place.
I like the unit but don't know about recommending it due to the brakedown with little use and lack of support. But the price was right at the time for a lot of machine.

I've got one of these. Works reasonably well on dirty handgun parts and frames that will fit in the tank. I've cleaned greasy, powder burnt dirty 1911 gov't size frames no sweat. Works better than sitting there scrubbing with a tooth brush.

I put HOT water in it to start to help the heater out a little, then some cleaner. Simple Green works pretty good on guns. Let it run and take out whenever it gets clean. Usually an hour or so. Can't say what it would do on a suppressor. That stuff is kind of baked on isn't it?

If you want, send me your dirty 22 suppressor and I'll try cleaning it and I'll send it back.....in a month or two, maybe longer depending on how dirty it is......promise. :rolleyes:

I bit the bullet yesterday and bought a HF 6L unit.
Didn't remove it from the box yet, I'm going up to the mountains next week and hope to try it there.

I have had the Harbor Fright one for 3 years, use it regularly. only complaint is I wish I could run it for longer times, I think the timer max is 480 seconds.. Usually run it for 3 or 4 cycles, I just use the cleaner that HF had, seems to work 95% some of the real hard stuff I still scrape, ( my suppressor comes apart, a Lane ). Before I had the ultrasonic I was lazy, soaked it in stuff and ran a brush thru, but didnt take it apart...( I even read that you didnt need to clean em a centerfire would self-clean them ).. well I had a baffle strike, blew the end out of it, sent it to Lane and they fixed it at no charge but send back pieces of carbon, they suspect a piece came loose, jammed inside and that was the cause . Mine is all titanium they said they run them in an ultrasonic cleaner overnight in I think CLR for the titanium, said that it will eventually pit a steel anyway, I now clean mine regularly. I use if for 204,223,22-250, 243, 22cm, 6cm, 6mm rem, 6.5, the water gets black in a hurry..
