I like breakfast, I make something sit at the counter read a book and enjoy the flavors. I'm not a cereal guy although I do enjoy a bowl of granola with fresh fruit and almond milk on occasion, especially on those morning when the thermometer still hovers around 90.
I really like a waffle with a sunnyside up egg on top and a fried brat along side, I like the taste of a fried brat dipped in maple syrup. The brats I take a sharp knife and slice the casing and peel it off then peek it off and flatten the brat so it cooks faster and browns up.
This morning I got up early (68 this morning) trimmed some trees and worked up an appetite. The other day i stopped at the market for fixings for green chili sauce, thin sliced beef, chilis, enchiladas sauce, tomatillos and fire.roasted.tomatoes and made a big batch, great topping for Burritos, chilli relanous and huevous ranchero add potatoes for a green chili stew. I had a couple chilis left over so I blistered one this morning, cut it into chunks. Pulled a smoked chicken thigh out of the freezer and chunked it up. Threw both in the frying pan and broke two eggs over the .top and gave them a swirl to coat the chicken and pepper. Then let them cook through. Fired up the griddle and brown a tortilla and had a wonderfully breakfast.
So what are your breakfasts like?
