204 Ruger?

Getting ready to purchase a .204 ruger but not into reloading right now. Looking to stay away from the 32grs and looking at either 35gr Berger, or 40gr bullets (Berger, vmax etc)..

I know most 1:12 twist 204 rugers are hit or miss with stabilizing the 40s.

Any feedback from those running the Ruger Gen II’s with factory 35 Berger or 40s ammo?

What are your thoughts about the CVA Cascade VH in the 1:9 twist?

Whenever you're wondering if a certain brand/model of factory rifle will shoot factory ammo accurately it will be a lottery situation. You need to get lucky that the mass production steel and the machine work/assembly is above average quality for your individual rifle AND the ammo is in tune with the barrel. Most shooters are happy if their new rifle meets any of the typical accuracy "promises" the manufacturer published. Of course the shooter also is a big part of the gamble.

Have a Savage with 1 in 12 and it has shot 40 gr Vmax, 39 grain Sierra, and 40 grain Berger real well. The Berger are better for coyotes.

No help with the accuracy but I would definitely lean toward a CVA before a Ruger Gen 2. Ive had 3 Rugers and all of them ended up with feeding problems. Ive heard nothing but good about the Cascade. Cant go wrong with a Bergara barrel.

I bought a Gen 2 Ruger in a .204... and I handload 40grs. Missed more coyotes and sold the rifle. MAYBE it would have shot better with a lighter bullet, never know
