I was wondering if there was any washington coyote hunters other than me on here!!!! want to know wheres a good place to hunt coyotes in washington. and any good spots in western washington besides were i go......?

Welcome aboard. There's quite a few Washington guys on here. I've found that my success rate is much better in eastern Washington. If you have access to some open areas here on the wet side you should be able to get some in and actually see them. Take care.

Welcome Mathisb12! This is a fun place to spend time. There's a very good contingent here from WA. Surprisingly, since we, especially on the wet side, don't have the opportunities the Midwest and southern guys have. There's lots of coyotes in WA, both sides, but it's hard to hunt on the West side. Cities, Suburbia, towns, and timberland make it tough. You're actually in a good spot there. Look for any remaining farms or other areas of large open expanses, and start asking permission. For the west side, you're in a pretty prime area, from you south. Lots of coyotes, you just have to find a place you can safely shoot without getting yelled at or having the sheriff called out on ya! Good Luck!

There used to be coyotes around here but I haven't seen one since Sunday. I heard there were alot in Oregon & Idaho so that's where I'm going this weekend. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Lots of coyotes in your area, Orting up to Enumclaw. Out by Kapowsin and into the Graham area. Problem is the houseing boom has chewed up the available land. Most likely will be a shotgun affair because of population growth. Check the Champion and Werehauser tree farms for permission to hunt. Still lots of open land to hunt in Eastern Washington.

I hear them in Graham almost every night. Finding a place to hunt is a whole different matter. Mostly I go over to the east side where it is more open.

I used to hunt on the west side but now it's all done over east. The coyote population is enormous on the wet side but the dense cover sucks. You can head up towards Evans Creek from where you are and should run into a bunch of dogs up there and cougar, bear, meth labs, transients and lost people just to name a few /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ya, we have it pretty good over on this side of the mountains. No people, no crowds, no traffic, lots of open spaces. The bad news is, I hear the coyotes are becoming call shy when they here that "western" accent.

it's alway's funny the joke's about westside hunter's were not all from seattle. i would try Eatonville area. Elbe. toward's Morton. i'll be trying eastside as allway's but way over toward's Coleville. i go over for the snow and cougar's. good luck. Rick

Good point, Ric.
I am pretty ignorant when it comes to the west side. I'm a home body.

When your out after cougar, how long after the big game hunters are gone do you wait before you will call for them?

I grew up hearing about the Seattle hunters too. Don't know how many times I've heard the story about one tagging the elk with shoes. The stigma has stuck. Unfortunatly I have encountered a few. Some were from the dry side but met the qualifications. We have calling areas but no call makers on this side though. We need those call makers.

Hey Bearman,

Are you sure you didn't mean colville?

I'm sorry, It gets mispronounced all the time and for some reason I can never just let it go. We seen a nice cinammon colored bear back in june. My son swears he seen a cougar, but I didn't see it. The area we were in had signs posted at the time because of multiple cougar sighting in the area so it is entirely possible. When your over here drop me a line and I will show ya where we were at if your interested, but you have to take me with you lol.
