New Wicked Light Kits

As far as weapon mounted lights go, LED's are LED's. It is almost impossible to find one that does not diffuse within a couple hundred yards. The technology is not proprietary and they are all made in China. Some are assembled here, but they are still made in China. If you're going to buy LED, it would be my recommendation that you just go with something cheap...like an XLR. Just don't expect too much from them.
If you want distance and clarity, lasers are definitely the way to go. I'll never go back to LED again.

I own the big kit/comes with 2 lights. Absolutely love it and it works great. Comes with white, red and green LED's. I prefer the green LED's. I have one on my AR for klling, and one loose for handheld scanning. The very first day I recieved it, I went up to the mountain, by myself, tested each color LED to see which one I liked best (furthest reach was white, then green, then red). I decided to use the green since white is too harsh on the animals around here, and it makes them shy away. After I was done, I thought I'd try a quick stand 1/2 mile up the road. Started calling and within a few minutes I had eyes trying to circle/wind me. I was really unprepared and not expecting anything, so when I saw eyes, I was a yardsale, getting gun out, etc. Make a long story short about 3 or 4 minutes later a dropped a female coyote at 180 yards, by myself, with the green Wicked. Wasn't sure I was going to find her, but just went out the 180 yards in the direction I thought I shot her, turned back and ranged my truck until I was 180 yards out, then started looking and found her wadded up right where she stood. So, to sum up, I like the Wicked Lights, and have shot many cats and and dogs since with the green one. We just gave one away at our Coyote Contest this weekend too. Hope this helps. BTY, wounts up solid with the including 30mm picatinny rail mount that goes on my scope.

BTW, the wicked has a very tight beam, not like a Surefire beam, if that makes sense. I works good, you won't be dissapointed. I think the Olight with 105 lumens, I would be dissapointed, as I own many "lumen" rated lights and I know 105 won't hold a candle to the Wicked. My 2 cents.

My thought is that whether its red or green makes no difference to the animal .... only the intensity does.

I believe that the human eye picks up green better than red .... therefore, my choice is green over red.

Western, I'm with you. The only reason I use green is because "I" can see it better, as I haven't noticed a difference in the animals reactions, unlike white light. And yes, green is much more visible to humans than red.

Lumens don't mean anything. If you remove the reflector you still have the same lumens yet the light no longer throws a beam useful to hunt with. Lux is the true measure of a hunting light.

What do Wicked owners think of the 5-mode light switch? Sounds like you have to cycle through all 5 settings to turn off or get to another desired setting.

I just ordered the Marksman Red LED kit and was wondering this also. Does the light have a memory that keeps it at the desired level?

I researched the Kill Light 250 XLR, VRL-1, SniperHawglight, Olight M20 Crimson,etc... The Wicked W400 won out based on features for the price. It seems all these lights are made with similar components, but with different packages and marketing.

My setup:
16" Free Floated lightweight midlength AR
6.5-20x 50 Whitetail Classic scope
Primos Trigger stick
Homemade ecaller("Radio Shack special")
Primos sit and spin crazy critter

Regarding how the Wicked Hunting Lights W400 works.

When the “On/Off”switch is depressed fully the light turns “ON” or turns “OFF” (if it was already “on”). Simple as that.

To access the modes while the light is already “ON”, simply depress the “On/Off” switch HALF WAY and the light will change from Full power to Medium power, depress it again and it will dim down to Low power, depress again HALF WAY and it will go to Strobe, continue to push it half way and it will cycle through all power modes. It takes approx 2 or 3 seconds to cycle through all modes High>Medium>Low>Strobe>SOS and back to High

If you want to turn the light off (regardless of what power mode you are in) simply depress the “On/Off” button fully and it turns the light OFF.

If you are like most people and prefer the full power intensity and do not need the modes then simply fully depress the “On/Off” button and the light will turn on at full power.

Please note that the W400 comes with both a push button tail cap and a coiled cord tail cap. The coiled cord “On/Off” switch works the same exact way as described above

Hope that clears up any confusion.

The video below shows the mode switch in action.

Thanks for adding all that good info! Sounds like I can set it to Hi (or Med or Lo) and then turn on/off with a single click.

I am starting to do research on these 18650 batteries and chargers as I am going to buy more spares. Wondering if I should go head and spring for a nice charger. What charger comes with the Marskman kit?

I got the two light package from Allpredators and couldn't be happier. You get serveral gun mounts, white, green, and red lenses, four sets of batteries and chargers. The lights work great.

Got my Wicked W400 today. The unit turns on at high every time, even if you turned it off at medium or low. I was hoping I could use the 5 modes to select the mode I want, then use the on/off. Looks like you have to start over and cycle to your desired setting unless of course you want it at full power.

I have the xlr250 and killed a coyote at 200 yards just this past week, and another the next night at 150. I have killed them before at similar distances.

Before I got the xlr250 I used a Lightforce 170 walkabout that I thought was the best thing since sliced bread, and killed stuff with it just fine. BUT, I had to deal with the cord, the heavy battery pack and the one I had was the hand held version so I had to have a partner to run the light.

Lightforce cords are notorious for breaking when used a lot.

Since I got the xlr250 the lighforce never comes out of the closet. Used the red lens on the lightforce and use the red led on the xlr250.
