JP7mag shot one coyote on Friday with his shotgun. It was a long slow day.

On Sunday the 2nd calling stand was pretty cool to see. We were sitting in the shade of a very long tree line. After playing Jack Rabbit distress for a few minutes, I saw two little white dots moving in the green grass at least 800 yards away. The sun was shinning on them and they were running very fast towards my X-24.

Just a few minutes later I shot the front coyote with my shotgun with a 1-1/4 oz load of TSS #3 shot at about 35 yards away. The second coyote stopped at about 150 yards away and JP7mag dropped it with his 243 Win. After that stand it was a long slow day with no more coyotes.

I will never forget seeing those 2 coyotes running that fast in that green grass from so far away.
 
Thanks for sharing the hunt, Bob. Sounds like an awesome sight to see. There's plenty of worse things than long slow days afield. Glad you both were rewarded a little action and success.
