108gr JLK bullets

It's going to take a lot more than that I think. 1:9.5 I believe is the correct
twist for that bullet weight and about all bullets. Just looked up a stat, 1.19
inch bullet is about max for a 1:10.

A 1-10 will stabilize up to a 130 grn uld bullet,it is 1.345" long.A 1-9 will stabilize up to a 142 grn uld bullet and a 1-8 will stabilize a 156 grn bullet.These are @3000 fps.
a 1-12 will do the 108 grn just fine.

The 130 was a very good bullet and with a stiff load of Reloader 25,3011 fps was obtained as a safe hunting load out of a 25-06 with a 26" 1-10 twist barrel .The 156 grn bullet was something to behold, with a BC of .820 and a velocity of 3368 fps. This was pushed out of a .338 ultra necked down and blown out. That was just plain wicked!!!!!A lot of guys used the 142 grn in .257 Weatherby's,25-06AI,and the .257 stw but 9 twists were needed.

Bigwheeler,I certainly don't mean any disrespect to you in any way, however neither Swampy or Barnes have ever fooled with bullets of this weight in 25 cal.I have to admit I was surprised to see the results as well as the green hill formula had called for a much faster twist than was needed
all the best

Lewie did you place an order with JLK for those bullets? I was wondering how long it took to get them from time of your order till shipment.

I've been shooting the 100 grain Sierra matchking they shoot very well, but I was still interested in the 108.

I did the reading on the long wildcat bullets wolfhunter suggested and the
guy is shooting 1:10 and 1:8 barrels. I still will stick with JLKs website that
gives a specific note on the 108 that you need a 1:10 twist. You are not going
to stabilize them in a 1:12. There is no magic to it.
