Was wondering if any one has used these on coyote. Thinking of using them in my 300wm for summer yotes. Would not be saving these pelts. What powder worked for you,I have imr4064 & reloader15. Thanks in advance

There is a gunsmith (retired) named Richard Franklin who built heavy varmint rifles in 300 WSM, that used the 110 V-Max and the 125 Nosler BT.

He used a slow twist (1:15") and the results on critters were ugly.

I read a guy's post somewhere last week that the 110 V-Max will come apart in flight with a 1:10" twist barrel from a big case like the 300 WM, and WSM.

I bought a box for my 300WM to try this spring, but I don't know for sure if they will stay together with the 1:10" twist.

.

I loaded a few 110vmax bullets and a few 110 aac bullets in a 300 win mag to see what i'd do. I've got a 8.5 twist barrel on it. The target was at 200 yds and it looked like after one shot from each someone had shot it with a judge and them PD rounds of buckshot. They dont' stay together at those speeds and pressures.

For what it's worth I run 125g NTBs out of a 300 RUM at 3880-3900fps and they stay together. It is just a factory Sendero barrel. If you want to shoot light 30cal I would do the Nosler. The damage is severe with these. I run them in front of Reloader 22. They are very accurate well under MOA out to any distances I've shot...Jason

My 300wm is a 1:10 and 26" tube, My hornady Manuel has load data for the 110 vmax in 300wm,it list speeds up to 3700,test barel was 1:10 25" tube. Now that itch is getting worse lol. If they won't work ill probably stick with nosler 165 bt's. This gun loves them. Catshooter please let me know how those shoot for you.

I will, but it won't be until April when I try them.

Jasent,
I just loaded up 20 test loads for my M1A .308 with the 110 VMAX last night. I used IMR4064 and RL-15. I also loaded the same test loads behind the Sierra 110 HP. I haven't shot them yet, but when I do i'll share the info. I'm going to use them on Coyotes and Hogs.

I loaded up a couple hundred For my 308 and tried them on prairie dogs, was not impressed with the results. They didn't explode like I thought they would. Shot a doe antelope with them and they performed like any other bullet.

I'm wanting to load these in 300wm. Just wondering if they will handle the velocity's

I tried them in 308, 1-12 1/2 twist, couldn't get them to group very well. It is a short pill and I had to seat it about .050 jump just to get it to have a decent grip on the round.

Thinking I may be better off using the 243 and save the 300 for bigger targets. Could probably try some of the nosler 125 bt's but 65-75g of powder is a lot to burn to kill a dog with today's shortages. Lol think I finally came to my sences

thanks every one for you input

ill pass on the sabots, if I had the brass though I would load up as much 223 rounds as I could. Seems there worth a lot right now.
I dont own a 223. but I do have dies. Rcbs fl and lee collet sets. At the current rate of inflation they could turn in to a new scope...lmao
I buy all kinds of dies when i find them for a deal. Just picked up 30-06 & 30/30 rcbs fl sets...got both for $15 each at the pawn shop, both in great shape
