For a 12ga 2-3/4" 1-1/4 oz coyote load I don't think you can beat these Remington Ultimate Home Defense Tungsten BB loads. There are 59 pellets in each shell and the heavier than lead Tunsten BB's penetrate and pattern very good.
We have shot and killed 12 coyotes with these loads and only 2 of them had to be shot twice. We also used these loads on a goose hunt in January and they smoked the snows and specks that we shot with them.

These HD loads were $25.00 per box of 10. $9.98 per box of 10 is a great buy for Tungsten BB loads.
That Price is hard to beat, I apprecaite the heads up, sounds like the Hornady 4 Buck may not be the best coyote loads?
Try the same load with LEAD nickle plated # F shot just a smidgen smaller but you get more shot per ounce. The Plating lets it slip in between the hair better.
I find they pattern VERY good with my Factory full choke in my 870 . There is 80%+ in a 30" at 60 yards. There is 50 "F" shot in a 1 1/4 oz 12 gauge. Word to the wise I could only get in 48 with a Fold crimp, to get all 50 in I have to go with a roll crimp...With a roll crimp I get 59 in a 1 1/2 oz 3 1/2" 12 gauge.

Are we talking lead or steel?
BPI says that there .220" lead F shot has 28.1 pellets per ounce.
I use to reload BPI's lead .200" T shot and I could only get 40 T shot pellets in a 1-1/4 oz load.
