130gr 270 loads for hogs???

When it comes to mid-sized hogs and the 270 win, are 150 grain bullets really necessary? Or will my preferred 130's do the trick for shots on the vitals? My preferred bullet is a 130 grain Sierra GameKing.

Don't give it a second thought, go kill pigs.

I don't reload,so I can't help with that. BUT, I have shot grown hogs with a 223 and a 270 with the "old fashioned" 130gr Silvertips which do lots of damage on whitetails.
Even with good chest/ double lung shots, I've had them run like they were untouched with the 270. They would however pile up within 100 yards.

I've never felt under gunned with the 130gr in the 270, but hogs are incredibly tough critters that can stay on their feet even with good hits.

I've also never felt under gunned with the 223, and have approximatly the same % of runners after the shot.
