16 bit vs 24 bit sounds

How much better sounding are the 24 bit versions? I recently stepped up to an X24 and have programmed it with all my MFK sounds but they are all 16 bit. At eight bucks a shot is it worth it to rebuy them? I’m pretty sure the answer is no but may buy a couple key sounds to compare. What’s the consensus?

I don’t have a clue how many “bits” the sounds are I converted from Johnny Stewart cassette tapes 20 years ago, but I manage to drop a coyote or two every year with one or two of them. They sound pretty awful to my ears when compared to newer sounds but they still work.

Take that for what it is worth.

I can't say that the 24 is any better than 16 to my ears, but I do think that MFK sounds are some of the best that you can buy right now.

I guess one way you can test it is to DL a 24bit sound that you already have in 16bit and back up a few hundred yards and compare.

You could be right. I can't remember what all I have DLed on mine. I may be thinking about mp3 sounds.

I think the designation fxp means they are 16 bit so they should play. My fusion plays both.

I thought the fxp sounds were the free sounds foxpro has available which I think plays on any of their units. I could be wrong

X24 will play both formats.

No need to re-buy....but some new sounds are alway nice.

i know the 16 bit sounds work and to me they sound great on the x24. I’m just curious if there is a noticeable sound quality improvement with 24 bit. I will probably buy one or two and compare. I would guess the answer is no. Hell I manage to kill quite a few with hand calls and diaphragms so it’s certainly not necessary. Just thought I would ask.

I don't think your ear will be able to tell a difference, and not sure it really makes all that much difference to the coyotes either. I play both and kill coyotes with both.

FXP is just an encryption that makes it so you can only be played on foxpro units.
Helps prevent copywrite sounds from being stolen.

The only thing I know about bits is that 2 make a quarter. I think it is all marketing BS. Cassette tapes killed thousands back in the day.
