17hmr groups at 950 yards

I hope you didn't use your wife's fine china as targets. With breakage it might be hard to read the witness names.

Like I am with shotguns, I'm a user but not an expert with the 17 HMR either, but those are some fantastic results!!

Oh, sorry.... I just re-read the part about targets coming soon. I swore I saw pictures the first time I read your post so I was totally onboard. Never mind. My bad.

Can't wait to see the unbiased results.

Recently saw a video of a guy shooting a 22lr out to 850yds so 950 should be a chip shot for a 17HMR. Maybe someone should try a 17WSM out to 1500.

I think there's a guy on here that's already done it...

This is the video I was referring to about the 850yd 22lr shot. I know Jeff a little bit and he isn't a BS'er and if he says it was 850, I believe him. You could almost eat a snack before the bullet reaches the target the TOF was so long.

I'm interested in seeing the 17 HMR 950yd shot video and if they are using an elaborate a setup as the one Jeff used.

I've never shot any of my rimfires even close to those kinds of distances and I doubt they have much energy once they get there but it's still really cool to see how far rimfires can shoot and with a certain degree of accuracy.

I just ran the numbers through Hornady's calculator and my 17 WSM would take over 219 MOA and have a whopping 12 Ft.lb of energy at 1500. LOL

Witnesses? Who needs witnesses?

Hang in there. We're all feeling kind of silly lately with all that we've learned recently.
