19 Badger

I would not get a rifle in a calibre that was only supplied by one source - when he retires, you are S.O.L.

Plus there is nothing that the 19 will do, that a 20 on the same case will not do just as well, with a hundred ore choices in bullets.

I know about the .19 Badger itself. One guy that I hunted prairie dogs in Riverton Wyoming had one. The rifle was a re-barreled CZ527 and a handsome gun it was. The ammo was made from .30 Carbine necked down. It was a cute little cartridge and looked a lot like a .20 Vartarg. I shot the rifle and it did shoot well but being an oddball cartridge as it is no one makes or sells ammo for it but Calhoon and it aint all that cheap.

When there was not any .20 caliber cartridges then the .19 calibers made a bit more sense. And since swaging dies are available to make .19 caliber bullets from .204 bullets then it would not be all that bad owning one I suppose. As far as I cam concerned though, when it is so much easier and is most cases cheaper to have some sort of .20 caliber, factory or wildcat, then I don't see the bother.

Sounding interesting and owning one are two different things. LOL I wouldn't mind shooting one but don't think owning one is high on my want list. Like said, kinda cute little round, but when hes gone, so is the ammo. Unless you hoard!!
