Yesterday JP7mag and I hunted from daylight to 4pm and we got 2 coyotes. One on the first stand and one on the last stand of the day.
Over the years we have had good success on the first stand. The bad part about this stand is we are hunting on a ridge top so if any coyotes are on the ridges on both sides of the one we are calling on they can see our truck. Yesterday we ended up seeing 6 coyotes on this stand and heard coyotes way off behind us. Only one of the coyotes that we saw was in rifle range.

Some of the coyotes that JP7mag saw on this stand were on top of the ridge in the back ground in the above picture. Many times yesterday we heard coyotes from one to three miles away. We have done pretty good over the years on this property but we educate lots of coyotes when we hunt it.
On the last stand of the day JP7mag shot a coyote with his 243 Win at about 100 yards away. I had my shotgun and saw the coyote run up and stop about 50 yards from me, but it was looking right at me, so I didn't move. About 5 seconds later JP7mag shot the coyote with his 243 Win.

This was a big male coyote but it didn't look very big in this picture.
