Has anyone had any luck with a radio and the throat mic's. I was looking at the Throat Mic Sportsman Edition make By Fire Fox. I was just wondering how that might work. Been looking a getting a couple of radios and looks like the Midlands gets a lot of votes. Also The Motorola's. I was looking at the new t7450 has anyone used them yet. I tried the rino 120's and the range was terrible. The gps part worked fine but the radio part was terrible. The polling part was great but range was so limited that it did now work very well.

Stay away from the throat mics. I had some I bought from radio shack and a friend had the firefox. We mainly used them will riding four wheelers and the transmissions were so garbled you could not understand one word that was said. If we were standing still they worked sometimes but had to be in the right spot and were hard to keep in the right place. I would not recommend using them.

There are some good larynx microphones out there. Unfortuanately all the ones I've seen are a couple hundred dollars. I'd like to find one that is inexpensive ($50 or so) that also works good. It'd be nice to be able to talk to my driver and T/C from the gunner's hatch without having to duck down and shout. A regular mike just makes for a rush of static from the wind, or if stopped is useless when I've got a face mask on.
