kycountryboy:
I saw one on the shelf at our local Gander Mountain store last week. I picked it up and looked at it, nice looking gun. This one was a 223, dont remember what they were asking for it. Where in KY are you from? We're from around Dayton, Oh. The gun may still be there if your interesetd I can post the phone number for you.

i live 60 miles east of bowling green,ky in south central ky, they have one there at gm in 223 also but that is the caliber i did'nt want either a 204 or 22-250 would be fine. also gm is almost 100 dollars higher than w-mart and a local gun shop.

There is one for sale in the classified in 22-250. Don't know but it may still be available and it is priced reasonable. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

FYI-
I was in the Cabelas store in Dundee, MI last week. They had predator hunters on sale fo $529. They were the models w/ the internal magazine. By far the best price I have ever seen on them.

I called Savage and talked with them and they said the 2008 Predators wont be shipped out for a while. Sportsmans isnt expecting until summer! Im getting frustrated and tired of waiting so Im probably getting a CZ.

Is the 2008 different from the 07?

Hopefully with an external clip! As in removable from the bottom.

Anybody know of any differences?

On one of the other forums that I am on, one of the other members took the president of Savage out this weekend and he reports that for 2008 Savage is going to produce the predator 10 in left hand model. This will also have an external magazine. Can't wait till they come out. Going to get a 204, just hope I can get ahold of one before summer.

i called and they said it would be the end of the month when they started shipping, I don't think I am willing to wait to get one does anyone want to reccomend another savage model that is good and not to heavy to pack all day long?

KYcountryboy,
I suggest you look into the Model 11. They are very handy with a sporter barrel which is accurate.
I'm glad to see Savage got wise and upgraded the Predator with a detachable box magazine. That was the biggest drawback in my mind.
