204 Brass?

A-dog

Hey everyone. As I am sure most of you are aware, finding 204 brass anywhere for the last year (maybe longer) has been [beeep] near impossible. Does anyone have the inside scoop as to why this is so difficult? Can 204 ruger be formed from a parent case, like the 222 mag?

Check a search on gunbot. Midway shows Nosler 204 brass in stock, kinda expensive. The next option is to buy loaded ammo in brass cases. It pops up at times in the classifieds, maybe run a WTB ad.

I'm seeing Hornady 204 at Sportsman's Warehouse and Cabelas her.

222 Mag can be used but that is rarer than 204 in bulk.

I guess it's just the bulk Winchester and Remington brass that is difficult to get. I am also seeing the Norma and Hornady brass in stock on a few websites. The Winchester and Remington bags of 100 were selling for around 30 bucks. The stuff that is available is selling a bag of 25 for about that price. Is it really that much better than the standard Winchester/Remington brass?

Soon you will start seeing rem and win brass I believe.. By july is my guess.. I am seeing win and rem loaded 204 now that has not been seen in a while.. Hornady is available most every where now..Dan

Unless you are about to go on a prairie dog hunt, I'd just buy 100 or so of the expensive, but in stock cases to get going. Then you can add to your supply as able, when you find the more common cases.

Some places allow you to back order too. Maybe just get on the back order list for the Win or Rem brass?

i picked up my 204 just before the big shortage. i settled for buying ammo @ $22/box vs paying $1 each for empty brass at the time.

at least i got to shoot reasonably accurate ammo before i actually started reloading it myself

Plant. One, you make a good point. Maybe I should just pay $20/box of loaded 204 ammo and then just reload once I shoot them. Might as well pay $1 per loaded round than $1 per piece of brass...

Hornady and Nosler brass in stock at sportsman's in Las Vegas, not that it's any help to you but maybe you can order on line?

20 bucks for 25 cases seems a bit insane. Hopefully I can just wait for Winchester and Remington to start making their cheaper brass again.

There is three lots of once fired brass on gun broker right now. Free shipping not sure what reserve is but worth putting a reasonable bid on and seeing
