204 Load Data Help

I just got a Savage 12FCV and am trying to get some load data put together. I was curious to see what everyone is having luck with out of this rifle. I don't have any W748 but am willing to buy some along with TAC if that seems to be a nice powder for this rifle. I am looking at trying the 32 grain VMAX and 39 grain BlitzKing. I have noticed a lot of people using Berger bullets, I haven't had any experience with them in any rifle yet, so is it worth trying these as well?
 
I had a model 12FV that I put in a Bell and Carlson, and it shot 32 grain Vmax and 27.3 grains of benchmark as good as I've ever seen a gun shoot.

I just got done loading some CFE223 and 40 g. Vmax. Hope to get some shooting time when it dries up a little.

MPFD--please post results of CFE223 when you get them--looking at 35 bergers and CFE223--should be perfect for 204--waiting on gun from scott-new year sale--thanks--THANKS

+1 Have heard good things about this powder. I have a pound of it just have not had time to load any. Still trying to work on my 223 loads.

Try the Sierra 39gr. BK's.

I have had excellent results out of a rem 700 sps with 40 gr vmax and bergers with both H335 near max load and BLC-2 near max. Don't remember charge weights right off hand but H335 was the most accurate. I too will be looking at cfe223 when my 204 SD upper arrives. I may just try my 204 loads I have and see if they work right away.
 
Mine likes Benchmark with 40gr Vmax. Also loves Federal's factory 39gr Blitzking loads. Gonna try to get my hands on some for loading. Bought a box of 39gr TNT's, anyone load those?
 
I have a 12 FCV in 204. IMR3031 is what I use.. My rifle likes 39 grainers. 40's not so much.. TAC and 32 grainers worked ok as well..
 
I have the 12 FCV, as well. H4895 or IMR8208XBR work very well in the .204R. H335 was the first powder I tried. Proved to be very accurate. But, loads I developed at 70 deg F. were over pressure at 90+ deg. F. It's a bit temp sensitive. So, be careful when working near max load.

Had trouble with 39gr. SBKs but 40 gr Vmax shoot < 1/2 MOA. 26 gr VGs are tack drivers.

Don't bother trying to seat the bullets to the lands. They won't get there and stay in the case. Expect to have a long jump for that chamber.

I agree with the 8208. I have a Ruger Target 204 that shoots in the .2's and .3's with a near max load. Benchmark works very well for me also.
 
Benchmark has worked so well in both my .204's, I haven't tried anything else! I shoot 32 gr blitzkings in one gun, and 39 gr blitzkings in the other. It's not temp sensitive, so when I get to Montana to shoot pd's, no problems.
 
27.4 gns of 8208 with the 35gn Berger and Rem. 7.5 is a winner in my DTECH 204. I loaded some hotter but these were by far the most accurate.

Maybe a bit.. I just clean em and don't pay much attention till they meet my clean criteria.
