What rods ,brushes, guides etc. are you guys using to clean your 204's. I picked up a cleaning jag ,that states its for the 204 ,but there is no way its going down the barrel with a patch that states it for the 204. Thank you
If your using square patchs, hook it in the corner of the patch. If it still doesn't go, check to make sure its the correct jag. My jag measures .168. If I measure the right one.
204 is not listed. But a co-worker picked up a couple demo units at a gun show to test out for the company. Over a year ago. Maybe they have not updated the website?
I have them in 9mm, .45, .223, .30, and 12g. I found them easy and quick to use.
Great for pd shooting as you don't have to worry about breaking rods, loosing brushes, jags, patches.

Just a knock off of the Bore Snake. Good for a quick clean but not good enough for getting a barrel really clean. I have several in different calibers but the only one I use is for my shotgun.
Just asking......Do you feel like the boresnake is doing a good job cleaning your barrel? Is this the only type of cleaning you feel is necessary? Maybe I'm doing it wrong and the boresnake is sure a lot easier.
A boresnake is better than nothing, but you need to do a good cleaning to get rid of carbon and copper. Without a good cleaning (I use Wipe Out) you just add layer upon layer or carbon and copper. It may take a while, depending on how much you shoot, for your accuracy to take a nose dive. But it will happen. As me how I know!
Pyscodog I emailed Jim at gunmouse, they are working on a 20 cal right now. He was hoping sometime in May it would be available. I will probably order a 17 and 20 then.

If you look down the bore before and after using a boresnake you can see just how effective they are. Sure, there might be times when you need to use something like a stainless brush, but those times are few and far between. Regular use of a stainless brush is hard on the barrel. Most manufacturers recommend that you use either a nylon or a bronze brush. Boresnakes are just a combination of a brush and a mop together. Used properly, there is nothing wrong with using a boresnake.
