Anyone heard of this yet? I just quick read an article that Savage is coming out with a new rimfire chambered in 21 Sharps. More research needed.
For ground squirrel shooting my 17 WSM is easily the first one I reach for so I'm a fan but I've said for years if Winchester made a 20 WSM rimfire loaded with something like the Hornady 24gr NTX shooting 3000fps I'd be the first one in line to get one and IMO it would have been far more popular than yet another 17 caliber rimfire. Same goes for the 17 Hornet I'm a fan and have two CZ 527's, but I'd have been a bigger fan if Hornady developed it as a 20 Hornet instead.I just now looked around on 21 sharps after seeing this post also. Prob wont be giving it a try over my 22lr and 17hmr.
I at least see the advantage of the 17wsm over the hmr, but im glad i didnt invest in that also due to ammo quality and rifle options.
If winny could get reliable ammo and user friendly budget rifles in, say a 20wsm! Be a great little coyote and smaller size game rimfire round with 35gr bergers! That would be a huge $$$ maker i think! Hornady is all about new cartridges nowadays…maybe they will beat winchester to the punch!
Oh yes, the whirly twirly flippy floppy fugly as sin bolt handle on the Bmag, they're a real peach aren't they and don't even get me started on those stupid looking barrel rings! Who in the hell at Savage thought those things would be a good idea to add?! Savage rifles can often shoot well but owning/shooting one is like dating a fat girl or having a moped, they're a lot of fun to ride, you just don't want anyone to see you with one. I did a fair amount of customizing to my HB SS Bmag before I'd take it out in the light of day and let anyone see me with it but you don't have to look very close to see what it is. I complain about the poor design of it but the one thing I can't complain about is how it shoots because in spite of itself the darn thing shoots really well.i about puked every time i cycled the bolt on a bmag. Couldnt get past the fact that you could rotate the bolt down before the bolt was forward
