22-250 55 grain nosler ???

i've been using 55 grain b.t's for a couple of years now with good results. my load consists of 34.x grains of imr 4064,winchester primers and winchester brass.

i too have been using a savage, mines a 12fvss in 22-250. groups usually .5-.75 at 100.

good luck, let us know how you make out

I have a Rem 700 22-250 . My load is 41.5 gr. of Win. 760. Best through my gun so far. Got a .440" group. I still need to try other powders though.

22-250 in a Savage 12fv 12” twist, shot 40gr, 50gr, 55gr Nosler bt and 60gr v-max .the 55gr Nosler grouped best but not much better than the 50s or the 60gr v-max

That is all I have run in all five of the 22-250's that I have owned. One Ruger and four Remingtons. My load is 39.0 grains of Win-760 and a Federal 210 GM primer. I will not tell you the average group size out of my current rifle, a 700 VSF, due to the responses I have seen to others who have posted groups or claimed group sizes. Suffice it to say that I am well pleased.

I did try the Nosler back several years ago, just couldn't get the 55's to work good in my 700 or Sako rifle at that time. I tired 3 different powders but it was still a no go.

So I moved on to the 55 Vmax and have never bothered to try anything different since then. Using H4895 has yielded some very small groups from my 700......

I have been shooting the 50gr NBT with great accuracy and good results on coyotes too. I showed a pic of the last coyote small entrance no exit @ 167 yds. I have been buying them in the Winchester Supreme Silver Ballistic Tips. These are Nosler Ballistic Tips with Lubalox coating which makes the bullet black. These were offered with a $5 rebate per box.

Before I re-barreled my Savage Model 16, to 6mm Rem., it was
a factory 22-250 Rem. And that barrel wasn't overly fond
of Nosler 55gr BT's. My AR-15s love them, but not the Savage.
It's favorite was the 50 gr. V-Max. Actually I have found
more of the slow twist .223 caliber bores(223 Rem, and 22-250
Rem), prefer the 50 gr. V-Max over the NBT 55 gr.

One savage I had liked the 50 grain v-max but the predator seems to like the 55 v-maxs better. That is why I am trying to find out if other folks are having good results with the 55 nosler so I could try them. Thanks for the posts.
