22-250 80Gr ELD-X

Alright guys, been a hot minute since I’ve been here on the forums but I really think I’ve found a load for my bergara 22-250 with a 1:9 twist. Found out that Hornady makes an 80 grain ELDX so I snagged some to try. Well needless to say with 33 grains of H380 these heads grouped better than any other round I’ve shot from the gun. 3 shot group that is maybe a .25 inch. I thought I had one round fly but come to find out they all hit identical. Gonna load some more up to see if it was a “ fluke “ or if it is actually repeatable for me. C.O.L was 2.500 with Fiocchi primers.

That bullet oughta make the Texas heart shot a little more reasonable since it would likely travel the length of the coyote.

If you are going to shoot an 80 gr bullet in that rifle you ought to give the Barnes 80 gr TTSX a look. I shoot that bullet in my 243 Win with stellar performance and accuracy.

80 eldx is a great bullet. It seems to shoot very well for a lot of guys in 223, 22-250, and 22 creed.

In my 1:8 twist tikka, 35 grains of H4350 shot great for me.

My wife’s 22 creed really likes them too. That one shoots them great at 41 grains of H4350 too.

Hopefully it isn't a fluke and you found a load that shoots well in your rifle. That would be a nice bullet for windy days. I'm sure wind drift is significantly less than the 55gr ballistic tips I'm shooting out of my 22-250.

Was this loaded by copper creek? I want to do my own load development but this could narrow down my search. I’m shooting the bergara HMR 22-250.
