22-250 ackley improved loads

It depends on the twist rate of your barrel. I shoot the 75 gr. AMAX and the Swift 75gr. grain with great accuracy. H-4350 has been the powder for me with heavy bullets.

Yeah I am just getting one made also. Thinking on 52 grain Sierra hpbt and some ramshot tac powder. It will have a 26 in heavy barrel and a 1/14 in twist. Just getting it cerakoted coyote tan. Hope to have pics of it soon.

Have one with 1/13 5 groove Broughton tube that likes 60 Noslers over N550. It will run the 60's at 3700 but when 34 or 35 will work why push it.

Me too...75 VLD's at 3425 hold the accuracy advantage in mine...

I have a couple of 8 twist 22-250AI's H4831sc gets me 3300 with very good accuracy 4350 get me up to 3450 with the 75's but not with the same accuracy

Who is building it? Whats the build.

I think you'll like it I am going with the amax 52 gr, make dang sure you use a full load when fir forming your brass, and use at least a 50 grain bullet trust me on this one, I tried to use a full load with some 40 grainers and it made the shoulder round instead of squared .

I will be sure to use at least a 50 grainier to fire form probably just load my 52 grain hpbt and shoot away!!!!!!! Thank you much EJ.

I will I am still fire forming brass, did you use the Remington barrel, snowy mtn rifles up in Missoula built mine on a Howa action with 26" Lilja barrel.

I would have done the same except I had abou 600-700 rounds of hot loads through mine surprisingly though the throat was in great shape still.

H4350 eats barrels in this caliber with heavy bullets, so beware.

I shoot 12 twists with the 60's at 3600-3700 the 55's at 4050, and the 50's at 4150 with Win 760 and Fed 210 primers.

A freind shoots R#15 with the 50's with exceptional accuracy at 3950-4000.

For a while I hunted coyotes in Mexcio with a 27" hart barrel with a 12 twist. My favorite bullet was the 60g Berger at 3700 fps and it shoot a very tiny group with this load of win 760. I actually shot a bob cat in half with the 60g Berger, and it makes some very large holes in coyotes...very humaine.

My fire form load in Rem brass is 39.5g of Win 760 with a fed 210 primer and 55g What ever while killing stuff with 1/2-5/8" groups.

We shot a lot of coytotes with the 55g Sierra BTSp, BTHP, 55g Spt, and 50g Spt, they all just dropped coyotes in their tracks.

The Nosler 60g Partition at 3600 blows some very large holes through deer, just as effective as a 7 Mag.

I tried the 52 grain A-max out of my Swift and was disappointed by the performance. It was accurate but didn't deliver the punch I expected from it. I had better luck with the Sierra 52 gr BTHP's.
