22/250 minimum case trim length?

I trimmed about 60 cases for my 22/250 with a Lee case trimmer. I've been using it for year for multiple calibers. Never had a problem and almost always hit 1.905 on my 22/250 brass. I noticed today they trimmed to 1.899 for whatever reason. Can these still be loaded without any issues!

Should be OK. What you don't want is too little neck to adequately hold the bullet. I can't see that much of an error causing a problem.

They'll be fine, not ideal but it's only .006" approximately the thickness of two hairs, plus my data calls for trim length of 1.902" so only .003" short. Why your trimmer did that I can't help you with, I've never used that type.

They will be fine. I have noticed when I used to use those it seemed like the pilot/case gauge got shorter over the years, probably from wearing against the stop.

Uniformity is a main reason to put them always at the same length. But these will still give enough length to hold the bullet.

Assuming you've the same Lee trimmer that I have.... I can't figure how the Lee trimmer trimmed short?

If you didn't screw the shaft in enough, they'd be long. And since you used it before, you should have the same length unless you put the tip in a grinder and shortened the shaft. Did you mix up the shaft with another cartridge shaft?

Oh well, you're still A-OK

I'm not sure how it happen . I only load 308 and 7/08 and the '250. My 308 trimmed at 2.05 as always. I have never abused it. I thought it looked liked it screwed in further but hard to tell until I get a magnifying glass or something.

I adapted my Lee hand Trimmer to work/spin on my RCBS Case Prep Center, so I typically interchange the length pins; and have found them difficult at times to screw all the way down tight against the cutter. But that leaves the cases long, not short. Your other pins should have much longer length. Strange.

Good luck

On the other hand 6 thousandth of an inch is next to nothing. I forget the expansion ratio of Steel, but maybe it was just cold that day. Probably won't make a measurable difference in POI.
