Im new to reloading and was wondering what the overall length of the case and bullet should be on my 22-250 I'm shooting 55 grain nosler bt-v

For reloading there's no correct loaded length. Bullets in factory 22-250 ammunition are seated so deep the casemouth will often be past the ogive. For reloaders overall length in a reloading manual is an irrelevant dimension. Use a split neck case to find where each particular bullet touches the lands, then seat about .010" deeper. Each bullet will be different and OAL length will be different. All you have to worry about with OAL is whether it fits the magazine.

What he said... my current 22-250 is loaded to 2.56"

2.350 works just fine in 22-250. If you're new to reloading and aren't comfortable with measuring bullets to your specific chamber to be able to ride the rifling, then don't mess with it. 22-250, and 222 rem - are two calibers in particular that just seem to be about perfect at the published OALs. In fact, a lot of people have tried seating long in 22-250 and had their accuracy go to pot on them. So just go with 2.350 and focus more on the other parts of your process, and finding the right charge.

for a beginning reloader i think it would be wise to stick to the listed parameters in the manual. start changing seating depths and stuff like that AFTER a solid base of reloading experience has been acquired.

but, some people that i have met should just not reload. whether it is a failure to pay attention to detail, or a tendency to do things wrong, some should just stick to factory ammo.

Thanks everyone yeah right now I'm experimenting with varget and h380 and just loading everythingto a oal of 2.35" I'm loading 34.6 of varget and 40.6 of h380 they both seem to shoot well just getting more consistant tight dime size groups of 5 at 100 yds with the varget
